ORPHEUS Conference in Budapest: enhancing the quality of doctoral education
26/05/2026 to 28/05/2026
The ORPHEUS (Organisation for PhD Education in Biomedicine and Health Sciences in the European System) Conference in 2026 is held from 26 to 28 May in Budapest, Hungary, hosted by Semmelweis University in partnership with EUniWell. The conference will bring together academic leaders, doctoral programme directors, supervisors, and PhD candidates from more than 130 member institutions across Europe and beyond to explore how sustainable interdisciplinary networks can enhance the quality of doctoral education.
From keynote speeches by internationally recognised experts to thematic oral sessions, poster presentations, and interactive workshops, participants will engage in dialogue around best practices, institutional strategies, and forward-looking models for sustainable doctoral training.
Networking and community building will be a central element of the conference, facilitated by a gala dinner on the Danube on the 27th of May, offering participants an opportunity to develop new collaborations within and beyond the EUniWell alliance while experiencing the cultural richness of Budapest.
Doctoral candidates and supervisors at EUniWell partner universities are encouraged to attend the conference, especially in the fields of clinical and basic human and veterinary medicine, pharmacy, physiotherapy, kinesiology, biotechnology, nutrition, and physical activity.
