Well-Being Incubator: Workshop - “AGEWELLSITY” - University for the Well-Being of Older People

27/02/2023

University of Murcia Online EUniWell-Event

The University for the Well-Being of Older People promotes the collaboration of younger and older adults working together to co-create a better society and improve everyone’s well-being. These initiatives include promoting a society for all ages and interacting with the local community. With these aims in mind, an online workshop, organised by the School of Health and Social Sciences Lorca Campus, University of Murcia, will be held in collaboration with EUniWell.

The graphic shows some older people in a cartoon style in front of a photograph of a park.

Academics and staff from a number of fields across EUniWell partners and beyond, all dedicated to the well-being of older adults, will contribute to the workshop, held on Monday 27 February at 9:00 – 15:30 CET / 8:00 – 14:30 GMT.

The workshop will facilitate the discussion of a variety of issues including ageing in places undergoing transformation, insights into current ageing research projects, the implementation of e-health solutions, and employing citizen science to promote active and healthy ageing in diverse urban communities.

Speakers will touch on the need to change frameworks and mindsets, such as incorporating older adults in all the principal activities of the university and leading a cultural change to transform universities and our campuses into more age-friendly institutions. Shifting age demographics in society are precipitating new demands of institutions, including universities, and this workshop will attempt to tackle these challenges.

The workshop is split into three sessions:

  1. In the morning: 9:00-11:30 CET / 8:00-10:30 GMT
  2. At noon: 12:00-13:20 CET / 11:00-12:20 GMT
  3. In the afternoon: 14:00-15:30 CET / 13:00-14:30 GMT
