“What’s for lunch?” Conference: Incorporating staff and student preferences in university food policy
11/07/2024 to 11/07/2024
We invite university students and staff to join us on 11 July at 15:00 - 17:30 CEST / 14:00 - 16:30 BST / 16:00 - 18:30 EEST for a round table discussion about incorporating evidence on food preferences in university food policy. This discussion will build on the EUniWell-funded research we conducted in six European universities about staff and student preferences for on campus lunch.
Additionally, experts from other European universities will talk about how their universities incorporate health, well-being and sustainability in their food policy. At the end, we hope to formulate a set of recommendations for how university food policy can be enhanced.
The event will take place in the UKKRIN Building (School of Engineering) on the campus of the University of Birmingham. Snacks and refreshments will be provided for in-person participants.
Attendees from other universities and organisations who are not able to attend the event in person are invited to join the first part online from 15:00 - 16:30 CEST / 14:00 - 15:30 BST / 16:00 - 17:30 EEST and contribute their perspectives.
Main objectives of the event:
- to present the results of the Campus Food project aimed at exploring on campus lunch preferences of university students and staff in 6 EUniWell universities (University of Birmingham, Nantes Université, Linnaeus University, University of Florence, Semmelweis University, and University of Murcia);
- to present the key approaches to incorporating health, well-being and sustainability in university food policy;
