Naturally, the dominant theme of the Presidency’s work programme are the ongoing Covid pandemic and the related economic and social crisis. Nevertheless, the major transformative processes of our time, such as climate change and digitalization, are to become further focus areas of the German Presidency. Generally, the German Presidency lists its guiding principles as:
These principles also guide EUniWell’s work programme and research arenas: EUniWell addresses the social and economic impact of the Covid pandemic with its ongoing Policy Commission ‘Well-Being in a Covid World’. Innovation is at the core of our research and work programme, as is the European idea. Fairness is our aim when it comes to inclusion at all levels, and EUniWell aspires to become the academic employer of the future, offering exemplary environments for researchers and staff throughout our academic ecosystem. Sustainability is a guiding principle for EUniWell, as our research arenas address the UN Sustainable Development Goals. With its strong focus on peace and stable institutions in research arena 2, we provide and develop the crucial legal, humanities and social sciences perspective to EUniWell’s overarching vision on well-being. As a European University, EUniWell aspires to strengthen higher education in Europe, and thus Europe as a whole.
Committed to well-being and the European idea, EUniWell welcomes the work programme outline by the coming German, Portuguese, and Slovenian Presidencies and looks forward to supporting their aims through its own vision and work programme.
