Digital Diversity Week at the University of Cologne

The University of Cologne’s Diversity Week ‘You make the difference’ takes place digitally this year. All week, multiple offers are available online between June 22 and June 26, 2020.

Issues of diversity and anti-discrimination are more pressing than ever in the light of recent events worldwide. EUniWell partner University of Cologne offers a wide array of online events, courses and lectures during its digital Diversity Week. All offers are open to the public.

The main event in English takes place on June 23. In the live webinar ‘Who has the power? A discussion on privileges, norms and hierarchies in higher education’, the Vice-Rector for Academic Career and Equal Opportunities, Prof. Dr. Ansgar Büschges, together with Dr.' Britt Dahmen (Department of Gender & Diversity Management) Dr.' Amma Yeboah (former guest lecturer of GeStiK and the Faculty of Medicine) and Dr. Dirk Schulz (GeStiK) invite to a round of talks. The event will take place from 3-4:30 pm via Zoom. Any interested persons are warmly invited. Please register here.

Further open formats include, among many others both in English and German, a course on female filmmakers (She Is A Camera: American Women Directors) and a Rap Poetry Performance. The full programme with registration forms can be found here.

Moreover, the University of Cologne offers an opportunity to share discrimination experiences through its anti-discrimination campaign #unboxingdiscrimination. Selected experiences will be anonymously published to raise awareness within the university community.
