EUniWell researchers’ network launch for Diagnosing and Combatting Viral and Cancer Diseases

01/19/2021

Researchers from Birmingham, Florence and Leiden who were successful in the first seed funding call are launching an online meeting for collaborative research on Friday 29th January from 10:00-12:30 CET / 9:00-11:30 am GMT

The network on Diagnosing and Combatting Viral and Cancer Diseases is launched to widen collaborative research on this important topic. All EUniWell researchers and staff are welcome to attend. Please register via the Eventbrite page.

The research collaborative network is especially targeted at biochemist, biophysicist and medical researchers from all EUniWell Universities with an interest to join the group. A number of slots will be available for researchers to give a short presentation (5 min.) of their scientific research. If you are interested to join the network and want to present at the launch meeting, please send a brief letter of intent (100 words) to a.holland[at]bham.ac.uk until January 21st, 13:00 CET / 12:00 am GMT.

The initiators of this network launch are Professor Mike Hannon (Supermolecular recognition of DNA and RNA junction structures for anti-viral and anti-cancer therapy) and Professor Zoe Pikramenou (Nanoparticle metal probes for detection, delivery and imaging) from Birmingham University, Professor Luigi Messori (Non canonical DNA structures as targets for metal based drugs) from University of Florence and Professor Sylvestre Bonnet (Stabilization of four-way DNA junctions with small molecules) from Leiden University.
