Semmelweis University organised successful on-campus Well-Being Days from 19-20 October 2021. The event was part of the FestiWell event series involving a number of interactive well-being related activities and insightful lessons about students’ needs and preferences.

During the Semmelweis Well-Being Days participants had the opportunity to get to know EUniWell staff and students, visit insightful talks, attend free medical screenings provided by the Semmelweis Health Promotion Center and join various artistic, recreational and sporting activities.

Dr. Miklós Kellermayer, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine and project leader of EUniWell at Semmelweis University, Dr. Marcel Pop, Director of International Relations and EUniWell Steering Group member, together with EUniWell Student Board members, Sloan Kudrinko and Félix Takács, held an interactive workshop, where students could share their thoughts and opinions and formulate ideas for promoting and enhancing individual and institutional well-being at Semmelweis University.

The organisers of the event also conducted an online mobility survey about the students’ interests and mobility preferences in the EUniWell partner universities. The results of the survey showed that 33% of the students would study abroad in the 4th year, 23.5% in the 3rd year and 19.6% in the 5th year of their studies.

The answers to the question related to the duration of the mobility revealed that the 7-week and 7-month-long mobility opportunities were the most popular among the students. They also indicated which faculty and which partner institution they would choose in a EUniWell study abroad programme, which could help planning EUniWell mobility programmes.

Furthermore, the Semmelweis Well-Being Days featured an inspiring conversation with paralympic athlete and world record holder, Luca Ekler, as well as the official opening of the EUniWell Open Lecture Series. The inagurual lecture was held by Prof. Botond Roska, Director at the Institute for Molecular and Clinical Ophthalmology Basel, visiting professor and alumni of Semmelweis University. A recoring of the lecture about “Restoring vision” is available here.
