EUniWell Summer School »Well-being entrepreneurship in tourism«

The Department of Economics and Management and the School of Economics and Management of the University of Florence are hosting their first EUniWell summer course. The topic of the 2021 summer course will be well-being entrepreneurship development in tourism and sustainability seen through the lens of Artificial Intelligence, energy, and climate action.

The summer course will take place from June 28th till July 1st2021. If the pandemic is in a more controlled setting by then and the vaccination programme is successful, the course will take place in presence at University of Florence. Given the possibility of a changed situation, the whole course may be held online. Lecturers are Lali Lindell from Linneaus University and Francesco Fuso-Nerini from KTH-Royal Institute of Technology in Sweden. Both courses are taught entirely in English.

Dr. Lindell’s course is about well-being entrepreneurship development in tourism. Dr. Lindell will give an overview of different aspects of well-being and how well-being tourism differs from other types of tourism. She will explain how well-being tourism is related to sustainable development and which are the current prioritized themes for economy, environment, community and individual health (body, mind, soul). Topping off, she will cover best practices of well-being tourism and well-being places.

Assistant Professor Dr. Fuso-Nerini gives an introduction to sustainability in general and the development of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) as well as perspectives from the field of International Sustainable Development. How is Artificial Intelligence (AI) connected to Sustainability and can it help us to reduce climate change? Prof. Fuso-Nerini will give an outlook on global energy dynamics and talk about the role of changes within the energy system to achieve the SDGs.
