Higher education leaders to converge in Murcia for EUniWell Showcase Conference
On 9-10 November 2023, the European University for Well-Being, EUniWell, will host the “Becoming a Voice for Well-Being” Showcase Conference at the University of Murcia. The event marks a pivotal moment in our journey, as we celebrate the culmination of our pilot phase and look forward to new horizons as an Alliance of European Universities and under the renewed Erasmus+ funding. The conference will provide a platform to reflect on these achievements, share the “EUniWell 2030: strategy framework and strategy questions”, and strengthen collaborations within the EUniWell community and beyond.
Leagership from EUniWell member universities, including rectors, senior management, researchers and EUniWell Student Board members, will join discussions and present their work and accomplishments from throughout the pilot phase with the wider EUniWell community. Professor Beatrix Busse, Chief Development Officer of EUniWell, shares her excitement about the conference: “The EUniWell Showcase Conference is a testament to our collective achievements as an Alliance. We've come a long way in shaping the future of European higher education with a focus on well-being. This event will be a unique opportunity to celebrate our journey as well as a significant step in shaping mastery, inclusion and well-being, that is, our future, guided by the “EUniWell 2030: strategy framework and strategy questions.”
Professor José Luján Alcaraz, the Rector of the University of Murcia, host of the conference, also expresses his enthusiasm: “We are proud to host the EUniWell Showcase Conference at the University of Murcia. This event represents a significant step forward in our commitment to fostering well-being and a holistic development towards a more inclusive, innovative, and sustainable higher education community. Day one of the EUniWell Showcase Conference will kick off with an inspiring Opening Session. The day’s highlights include keynote remarks by Vanessa Debiais-Sainton, Head of the Unit in charge of European Higher Education policies and programs at the European Commission. Participants will be introduced to the EUniWell 2030 Strategy Framework, setting the stage for a future of academic excellence and well-being. Engaging roundtable discussions and a captivating artist intervention will make this day an impactful start to the conference.
The second day of the conference, themed “Strengthening and Involving” will feature presentations on civic engagement and well-being policy. The day will include a Rectors’ Panel discussing well-being, institutional transformation, and academic excellence. The programme will explore EUniWell’s vision and ongoing partnerships, along with showcasing well-being initiatives on campus and student arenas across the Alliance. The closing ceremony, “Together Towards Communities of Well-Being and Co-Creating the Future”, will celebrate the collective journey of “Becoming a Voice for Well-Being”.
