About this lecture:

Ageing represents one of the most unique changes in the life of human beings. While many societies across the globe are dealing with the consequences of an increasing ageing population, ageing research becomes more and more relevant both for social and individual well-being.

Our rapidly changing society requires to tackle the phenomenon of ageing in a holistic manner, particularly looking at the interconnection between biology, psychology and socio-environmental factors.

This lecture will address challenges and opportunities of the biopsychosocial model of disease. It will discuss the relevance of personalised medicine in the 21st century and suggest ways to bridge the gap between ageing research and ageing medicine of the future.
