About this symposium

The Universidade de Santiago de Compostela will host the first symposium of the Centre for Advanced Studies (CAS), under the theme “Innovation in Well-Being for SDGs Achievement”.

The event will take place in Santiago de Compostela from 24 to 26 June 2025. The symposium is open to PhD students, junior and senior researchers, EUniWell Champions, EUniWell Seed Funding winners, as well as technical and management research staff from EUniWell member universities. Participants will present their research and innovation work related with well-being, attend sessions led by peers, and engage in discussions on the latest developments within their respective fields. Through a diverse set of contributions, the symposium will explore strategic topics related to well-being in the context of the Alliance’s mission and create research and innovation collaboration opportunities between the participants with the final goal of proposing new research and innovation projects around well-being.

In the week prior to the in-person sessions, a series of online sessions will be held from 17 to 20 June, primarily dedicated to preparing the on-site programme. The idea of these sessions is for the EUniWell Champions to present their work and give a brief overview of the projects and initiatives in which they are involved, as well as encouraging the participation of symposium attendees interested in each arena. Through the contributions of both the Champions and the participants, the sessions also aim to raise awareness of the various EUniWell Alliance research communities and to foster meaningful networking and exchange among them.

About the CAS symposia

The CAS symposia are a new initiative designed to support and connect early career researchers across EUniWell. Targeting doctoral and postdoctoral researchers as well as research group leaders, the series provides a dedicated platform to explore pressing topics relevant to early career stages in an international and interdisciplinary setting.

The initiative is carried out within the framework of EUniWell’s Centre for Advanced Studies (CAS), the alliance’s core structure for research, innovation, and knowledge transfer. CAS plays a central role in fostering cross-institutional collaboration, and this series forms part of its mission to empower the next generation of researchers by harnessing the alliance’s collective expertise.
