On 3-5 April 2023, the fifth EUniWell Rectors' Assembly and the FestiWell 2023 took place at Linnaeus University in Växjö, Sweden. The event brought together participants from all EUniWell universities, including rectors, vice-rectors, students, and staff.

Fifth EUniWell Rectors’ Assembly

At the fifth EUniWell Rectors' Assembly, held at Linnaeus University in Växjö, rectors and representatives from the Alliance gathered to discuss their priorities in important areas, including mobility, entrepreneurship, innovation, and transformation. Their aim was to develop strategies and a timeline for implementing these priorities, with a particular focus on the next few months, which mark the end of the pilot phase of EUniWell and transition into the next phase. The aim was to ensure a seamless transition into the future of the European University for Well-Being.

A highlight of this assembly was the official accession of the University of Santiago de Compostela to the EUniWell Alliance. The University of Santiago de Compostela was warmly welcomed into the Alliance as Prof. Antonio López Díaz, Chancellor of the University of Santiago de Compostela, ceremoniously signed the Consortium Agreement. We are excited to make this partnership official and to continue building our European University Alliance together.

FestiWell: “Upskill, Connect and Celebrate!”

Alongside the Rectors’ Assembly, EUniWell held its third annual FestiWell on 3–4 April 2023. FestiWell celebrates the cooperation between our universities by bringing together students, researchers, faculty, and staff from all EUniWell universities for a range of joint events. Close to 200 students and staff from all over the Alliance participated in the event.

Taking place for the first time as an in-person event on the campus of Linnaeus University in Växjö, this year’s FestiWell was themed “Upskill, Connect and Celebrate!”, inspired by the European Union’s announcement of 2023 as the European Year of Skills.

FestiWell offered a variety of around 40 workshops, lectures and activities which explored the importance of developing academic, communicative, and creative skills. The overarching themes of the two-day event were entrepreneurship, digitalisation, employability, and soft skills. Well-being and social activities rounded off the programme.

FestiWell 2023 was a great success and widely appreciated by the participants. EUniWell and Linnaeus University send a warm thank you to everyone involved!
