Course description

It is said to be the most vulnerable phase in an academic career: the time between a PhD and a professorship. On the other hand, it is the most productive time of a researcher – prestigious grants, highly-cited publications, intensive teaching, international networks...The University of Konstanz invites ECRs to the 2nd Symposium of the EUniWell Centre for Advanced Studies to:

  • meet other young scholars across disciplines from 11 European Universities partnering in the EUniWell alliance,
  • shape the future of the “EUniWell Centre for Advanced Studies” for young scholars,
  • present your research poster and find new collaborators across the member institutions,
  • learn about funding opportunities and international mobility within EUniWell.

This symposium is the major EUniWell event for academic networking and wants to offer a platform to facilitate research and collaboration and to leverage the capacity of the EUniWell alliance members across generations and disciplines. The 2nd symposium of EUniWell will focus on young scholars. It is hosted at the Zukunftskolleg at the University of Konstanz, an Institute for Advanced Studies for early career researchers from different disciplines and nationalities. Following “the 5 i strategy” of the Zukunftskolleg, international – interdisciplinary – intra-university – intergenerational – independent, the programme is designed to inspire networking and out-of the box thinking.

Invited are PhD students and PostDocs of the EUniWell member institutions. International early career researchers will meet to exchange their experiences, get new ideas, create networks and get advice and support from EUniWell Champions and other experts of the thematic arenas. ECRs will have a chance to present their research poster and look for new collaboration partners and drafting a project proposal on site.
