Course description

A tale in many voices is a multilingual and multicultural learning pathway originally developed at Inalco and now extended within the EUniWell alliance.

Starting from the fairy tale Les Fées (“The Fairies”) by Charles Perrault, presented in English and French, the course invites learners to explore the story across a range of languages such as Hungarian, Bulgarian, Italian, Croatian, and others.

Through audio recordings and short comprehension activities in each language, participants are encouraged to discover how a single narrative takes on different voices, rhythms, and cultural nuances. Open to language enthusiasts of all backgrounds, this innovative project offers a playful and immersive way to engage with languages, translation, and storytelling across cultures.

Schedule

Self-paced study.

This course is made up of several learning modules, each one focusing on a different language. Learners can choose freely to study one, several, or all of the modules. Each learning module should take 1 to 3 hours to complete.
