Course description
The objective of this Blended Intensive Programme is to provide participants with foundational skills in French language (B1/B2 level) and an immersive introduction to French culture. Through a combination of language instruction, interactive online components, and in-person cultural experiences, participants will develop communication skills for daily life in France and gain a deeper understanding of French society, traditions, and contemporary life. This programme aims to build participants' confidence in speaking and understanding French while fostering intercultural competence and appreciation.
Schedule
Blended Intensive Programme
In person – 5-day programme
- 3-hour French language class each morning at Inalco
- Workshops and cultural activities every afternoon in Paris related to themes studied during the class (such as: guided tours - Orsay Museum, in Montmartre, at Cité internationale universitaire de Paris, around the mural paintings of Inalco’s neighborhood-, workshop on intercultural skills…)
Online – Before, during and after
- Introduction session taking place prior to the physical programme
- Asynchronous learning: practice your French while getting to know everything you need about studying at Inalco
- Serious online game on intercultural skills
- Online closing lecture taking place prior to the physical programme
Requirements
The programme targets participants currently working towards a B1 or B2 level. Participants must certify of a CEFR level A2 certified or B1 certified. A TCF, DELF, or university language certificate (a screenshot of your current course enrolments is also acceptable). All nominated students will have to take an online language test from Inalco to confirm their eligibility before final admission. Beginners and students already attesting of a certified B2 level are not eligible to the programme
