Course description
The Blended Intensive Programme explores tangible and intangible cultural heritage as a resource for education, social innovation, sustainable territorial development, and the well-being of local communities, in line with UNESCO guidelines and European policy frameworks. The programme is promoted by the UNESCO Transdisciplinary Chair "Human Development and Culture of Peace" at the University of Florence, in collaboration with the Universities of Euniwell.
The partnership is further extended to Mykolas Romeris University and the University of Macerata, both members of the network on cultural welfare and active ageing. Addressed to students from diverse disciplinary backgrounds – social sciences, heritage studies, tourism, economics, and health-related fields – the programme adopts a transdisciplinary, place-based approach, employing participatory methodologies and challenge-based learning. The topics addressed range from cultural heritage as capital for building more sustainable and inclusive future societies, and its role in fostering individual and collective well-being – all aimed at developing transversal competences for future professionals in the field.
