Gender inequalities in education
A transformative 4-day seminar exploring gender inequalities in education
Course description
The seminar will take place over four days, from Monday 12 May to Thursday 15 May, and will include lectures, workshops, discussions, and school visits.
The agenda will cover the historical and sociological perspectives of gender inequalities, school visits, reflective activities, and discussions on educational policies and the role of teachers in promoting gender equality.
The aim of the seminar is to raise awareness among students about the variation and cumulative nature of gender inequalities in society, as well as the specific nature of these inequalities in the school context (such as their effects on student behaviour in classrooms and academic results). We also aim to engage students in promoting gender equality in their future classrooms.
