Become a EUniWell Champion: the second Call for Expressions of Interest is now open
The EUniWell Champions Scheme targets academics interested in contributing to the Alliance’s mission by disseminating well-being research and fostering connections within and beyond EUniWell. The first Call for Expressions of Interest, launched in January 2025, led to the appointment of eight senior academics as Champions in July 2025. This second call will select eleven additional senior researchers to continue and expand this initiative.
Selected EUniWell Champions will act as ambassadors for the Alliance, promoting interdisciplinary collaboration and advancing EUniWell’s core values within their home institutions, across the academic communities of the Alliance, and in engagement with civil society and policymakers. Each Champion will receive a budget of up to €15,000 to support a six-month programme of activities, which may be carried out consecutively or non-consecutively between September 2026 and July 2027.
As part of their role, Champions will develop a work plan aligned with EUniWell’s strategic priorities, including activities such as mobilities, conferences, seminars, collaborative research and innovation initiatives, and engagement with external stakeholders. They will also contribute to the EUniWell Centre for Advanced Studies (CAS), participating in the design of its symposia and delivering keynote lectures, as well as engaging in Alliance-wide initiatives, including those organised by the EUniWell Thematic Arenas.
The call is open to senior researchers currently employed at the following EUniWell member universities:
- University of Cologne
- University of Florence
- Inalco
- University of Konstanz
- Linnaeus University
- Nantes Université
- University of Murcia
- Universidade de Santiago de Compostela
- Semmelweis University
- Medical University of Warsaw
Application process
Applications must be submitted by 29 April 2026 at 17:00 CEST / 16:00 BST / 18:00 EEST, and the selected Champions will be announced from 22 May 2026.
