Nantes Université is a higher education and research institute that offers a unique, globally-ranked university model in France. It brings together a university organised into faculties, three ‘grandes écoles’ (Centrale Nantes, École des Beaux-Arts Nantes Saint-Nazaire, and École Nationale Supérieure d'Architecture de Nantes), a university hospital (CHU de Nantes), a technological research institute (IRT Jules Verne), and a national research body (Inserm).

• Training and open education: Nantes Université is committed to the academic success of its diverse students and aims to make the knowledge produced by the establishment accessible to the greatest number. • Research and open science: Multidisciplinary, Nantes Université promotes cross-disciplinary collaboration, supports research in a wide range of areas, accompanies the emergence of innovative projects and explores novel subject areas that address current societal issues. It is committed to open science to ensure that scientific data is accessible to all levels of society.
• Health of the future: This key area of research draws on the expertise of 12 Nantes Université laboratories, totalling 780 teacher-researchers, and reveals the scientific excellence of Nantes Université in three major areas of academic research: innovative biotherapies, oncology-related therapies and nuclear medicine, and precision medicine. In terms of innovation, three areas stand out: early diagnosis tools for predictive medicine, new therapeutic strategies, health, and nutrition and well-being.
• Industry of the future: This key area of research draws on the expertise of 7 Nantes Université laboratories, with a total of 620 teacher-researchers, 15 platforms and over 100 equipment, and showcases the scientific excellence of Nantes Université through five major areas of academic research: advanced production technologies, digitalisation of companies, performance of industrial organisation, low-carbon industry, the place of human in industry.
