Advancing Together: EUniWell’s Open Science progress report at the CIVICA conference in Paris
The CIVICA Research Conference, held as a hybrid event in Paris on 12-13 October 2023, marked the conclusion of the CIVICA Research project funded by the Horizon 2020 programme under the “Science with and for Society” (SWAFS). This conference aimed to share the project’s achievements and key outcomes. Participants were introduced to the interdisciplinary work fostered by the project, recognising its instrumental role in shaping the CIVICA Alliance and strengthening its research and collaborative capacities in the past three years.
The conference featured presentations from eight European University Alliances, including EUniWell, providing a valuable opportunity to introduce the EUniWell #Research project, a top-up project funded as part of the H2020 programme under the SWAFS call.
One of the primary objectives of the EUniWell #Research project is to align the Open Science agenda for EUniWell with the EU Open Science Agenda. In pursuit of aligning EUniWell's commitment to Open Science with its well-being focus, the EUniWell Open Science Agenda addresses the evolving digital research landscape. It explores potential opportunities and addresses the challenges presented by rapidly emerging digital research practices, formats, software, methods, infrastructure, and the speed of data production.
At the conference, EUniWell Open Science expert, Pierre Francois from Nantes Université, presented our Open Science initiative’s strategy to the participants, emphasising: “Open Science empowers us to explore new horizons and unlock the full potential of knowledge sharing and contributes to the well-being of our scientific communities. We’re proud to exploit the boundless opportunities it brings!”
