EUniWell students to attend inaugural session of the European Student Assembly
As one of the key activities of the European Universities Community (EUC), the European Student Assembly will present a great opportunity for students from across Europe to address some of the complex challenges that the EU faces today. The Assembly will contribute to making student voices heard through the publication of their policy recommendations. This inaugural session will be the first of a series of gatherings that will give students a public voice in the European Union.
EUniWell will be represented at the Assembly by 4 students: former EUniWell Chief Student Officer Amel Anane, EUniWell Student Board Executive Team Member Sloan Kudrinko, EUniWell Student Board Member and Semmelweis Students' Union Vice-President Félix Takács and Semmelweis Students' Union President Bálint Tripolszky.
Students will discuss some of the most complex challenges facing the EU today, with a view to eventually making recommendations to European policy makers. The plenary session will gather around 275 student representatives from all participating associations in the premises of the European Parliament in Strasbourg.
After a welcome address at the European Parliament, the Assembly will begin with a series of keynote speeches at Strasbourg university. Student representatives will then have the opportunity to discuss their position in one of 10 thematic sub-groups.The recommendations of each sub-group will then be presented to the plenary assembly for a vote, resulting in a common position paper to be shared with European decision-makers within the framework of the Conference on the Future of Europe.
The EUniWell delegates will prepare a report which will be published after the event.
