EUniWell Research Data Management Training

EUniWell Online for Researchers online

The EUniWell Research Data Management training aims to explain what research data is, how to identify best practices and useful tools for data management, and how to write a Data Management Plan. The training is offered on three different dates, 12 February, 9 April and 13 May 2024.

This picture shows two people standing in front of a desk, working on a set of documents and charts. One person is holding a pencil, taking notes on paper. In the upper right corner is a badge in a cyan and pink gradient with the text "#Research".

About the programme

Managing and opening research data is gradually becoming a requirement, particularly for funded research projects. However, good data management is also the guarantee for good project management and a tool to promote scientific work, as these are more cited when they are attached to one or more data sets. Even before publication, managing data allows to avoid potential issues, save time, protect the researchers and promote the replicability of research.

With the help of concrete examples, the Research Data Management training will allow researchers to understand what research data is, identify good practices and useful tools, and which services to contact for support within their universities.

The second part of the training will focus on how to write a Data Management Plan with the help of a template created by EUniWell Open Science experts.

Aim of the programme

This training will answer the following questions:

  • What is meant by “research data”? Why is this topic so important?
  • What are the FAIR principles?
  • What are the requirements in terms of data management? How can I turn them to my advantage?
  • What is a DMP (Data Management Plan) or PGD? How do I write it?
  • Where and how do I back up my data? What are the best practices to follow?
  • Why and how can I disseminate my data? How do I make it accessible and reusable?
  • How do I describe my research data? How can I protect it?

Details of the training

This online training will be offered in three different sessions, to offer flexibility to the participants. All three sessions are structured in the same way and will provide the same content.
