Ready to take the next step in your research career with an international experience? The Marie Skłodowska-Curie Postdoctoral Fellowships 2026 (MSCA PF 2026) offer an outstanding opportunity to develop your research, expand your networks, and work with leading experts across Europe and beyond.

The deadline for the MSCA PF 2026 call is 9 September 2026, 17:00 CEST.

Start with a hosting offer

A first step in preparing an MSCA PF application is finding a hosting supervisor (a researcher who will mentor you and host your fellowship at their institution). In line with EUniWell’s vision, a protocol has been designed to streamline the process of connecting researchers with supervisors, thereby enhancing the potential for successful applications.

Across the EUniWell Alliance, supervisors have published Hosting Offers covering a wide range of topics and disciplines. We invite you to:

  • Explore the Hosting Offers available across EUniWell universities on ‘Employment opportunities’ (please remember to check for updates regularly).
  • Apply as a candidate to supervisors whose work matches your research interests.

Co-develop a strong proposal

If you are selected by the supervisor(s) you applied to, you will jointly design the MSCA PF proposal. This includes:

  • Clear scientific objectives and methodology.
  • Expected results and impact.
  • A tailored training and career development plan.

The strength of the application lies in the combined expertise of the fellow candidate and the supervisor, who team up to build a compelling project ready to be submitted before the 9 September 2026 deadline. Your institutions’ EUniWell office and office(s) dealing with European Projects will be able to offer guidance throughout the writing process. Applicants are expected to be notified of the results of the submission in February 2027 (TBC by the European Commission).

What MSCA PF offers

MSCA Postdoctoral Fellowships are among the most competitive and prestigious European Commission-funded programmes for postdoctoral researchers. Fellows benefit from:

  • Excellent research infrastructure and support at the host institution.
  • Access to academic and professional networks.
  • Opportunities to deepen expertise and strengthen long-term career prospects.

The programme also encourages interdisciplinary and cross-sector collaboration, including engagement with partners beyond academia to support innovation and solutions to societal challenges. In short, MSCA PF is more than a funding scheme. It is a platform for professional growth, international cooperation, and research with real-world impact.

Eligibility criteria

To apply with a hosting supervisor, applicants must meet the following requirements:

  • PhD requirement: Applicants must hold a PhD at the date of the call deadline (9 September 2026).
  • Research experience: Researchers should have a maximum of 8 years of full-time equivalent experience in research, measured from the date of the awarding of their doctoral degree.
  • Nationality: The fellowships are open to excellent researchers of any nationality.
  • Mobility and sectors:
    • European Postdoctoral Fellowships: open to researchers of any nationality who wish to engage in R&I projects by either coming to Europe from any country in the world or moving within Europe. The standard duration of these fellowships must be between 12 and 24 months.
    • Global Postdoctoral Fellowships: open to European nationals or long-term residents who wish to engage in R&I projects with organisations outside EU Member States and Horizon Europe Associated Countries. • Disciplines: All disciplines are eligible, including research areas covered by the Euratom Research and Training Programme.
