Course description
This course provides an examination of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) as a holistic and comprehensive framework for addressing global challenges through research and interdisciplinary collaboration.
Sustainability is not the domain of a single discipline and can be approached from a variety of perspectives, including economics, the arts, law, health sciences, environmental studies and humanities.
The course focuses on the integration of sustainability principles into scholarly research. Through a series of lectures, doctoral students will be able to connect their research with the broader context of sustainable development, gaining a deeper understanding of their work's potential for real impact in contributing to SDG achievement.
Schedule
Live online introductory session: 23 February 2026, 13:00–14:00 CET.
Online self-study (10 hours): 23 February–6 March 2026.
Requirements
Learners should be a PhD student. The course is delivered in English.
