The discussion will highlight aspects about the current status of Digital Education and about the main challenges for future teaching in a continuously digitized society. In a Fireside Chat on Thursday, 29 April, 18:00-19:00 CEST (5:00-6:00 pm GMT) which is live-streamed on YouTube Professor Busse explains challenges and perspectives in the field of Digital Education.

The Fireside Chat is a talk between Ingo Kleiber (Department for English Studies at the University of Cologne) and Vice-Rector Beatrix Busse on digital education, innovative and future teaching. A key part of the talk will be the future possibilities of digital education in the education of teachers and the future of universities in this context.

The Fireside Chat ends the “Week of Hybrid Teaching and Learning” conducted at the University of Cologne between 26 and 28 April 2021, during which university teachers and experts on digital education are discussing future scenarios for digital education in the higher education context.
