Differences that make a difference: EUniWell students are invited to participate in online lecture on practical philosophy at the University of Cologne
“Justice, inequality and discrimination – differences that make a difference” is the topic of Prof. Hinsch’s lecture in the upcoming summer semester at the University of Cologne (UoC) on Wednesdays, 12:00 - 13:30 CET /11:00 - 12:30 GMT, starting 6 April.
He says: “The lecture discusses challenges of economic inequality and social discrimination in Europe and examines different theories of justice to address them. We take an interdisciplinary look into the problem from the perspectives of ethics, economics as well as social and cultural sciences.”
Prof. Hinsch holds the Chair of Practical Philosophy at the UoC and focuses his research on political philosophy, moral philosophy and social theory. He and his colleagues are delighted to also welcome (advanced) bachelor, master and PhD students of other EUniWell institutions to the lecture. The lecture will be held in English and in a digital format. International students can simply take part from their home university and do not need to be in Cologne. Students who fulfil the course requirements will receive the corresponding European Credit Transfer Scheme (ECTS) points and a Certificate of Virtual Mobility.
Interested students should get in touch with their International Office at their home university before 1 March, as this is already the nomination deadline.
In addition to Prof. Hinsch’s lecture, EUniWell students are also welcome to apply for any of the Eduventure offers for the upcoming summer semester. Applying for the Eduventure Virtual Mobility Program allows students to enrol for one specific course and grants them full access to that course. Students participate like any other student and share an intercultural learning environment. As these English-taught courses are regular UoC courses, participants include regular UoC students as well as Erasmus exchange students and international exchange students.
