Linneaus University offers a seminar on eHealth and research about a digital twin
The digital twin is an expert companion that moves along with the patient. It collects data from the living twin and updates it into the digital twin. The digital twin can be of use for healthcare providers and/or patients themselves to track their activity. For example, if patients start to exercise more or go on a diet, the digital twin will show the results in the data.
The digital twin can be of help to physicians, too; for instance, when wanting to test the use of a new drug or treatment, a test run can be done with the digital twin first to calculate risks better.
The digital twin is based on a mathematical model combining the data from the human brain, liver functions, beta cells, fat tissue, muscle metabolism, blood flow and the heart.
The seminar will take place on Thursday, February 25th2:30 pm till 4 pm (CET) via Zoom. Associate Professor Gunnar Cedersund will present his 20 years of research in the field.
