You will amplify student voice, your own included, and gain valuable experience that enriches your portfolio and future classroom practice.  Funding for travel and subsistence is available for accepted students (terms and conditions apply). The works shop is open for students from Linnaeus university, University of Cologne, Konstanz University, University of Santiago de Compostela, and University of Birmingham.

This project engages students in co-creating teaching materials and generating research-based insights on democracy and democratic education. Education is a cornerstone for fostering democratic citizenship, and universities play a vital role in promoting inclusive, equitable societies. In the context of rising racism, populism, right-wing extremism, anti-LGBTQIA* and anti-feminist rhetoric, as well as religious-political radicalization, this work becomes increasingly urgent. These developments are often rooted in ignorance, fear, and the marginalization of vulnerable groups. By involving students in both pedagogical and research processes, the project contributes to strengthened democratic values, critical awareness, and the development of anti-oppressive educational practices.
