Course description
This Summer school aims to provide knowledge and analysis of the European Union's external action in the context of multiple geopolitical crises, marked by the war in Ukraine, the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, and information warfare. It will review the main features of the EU's external action, including its enlargement and neighbourhood policies, as well as initiatives implemented in various regions of the world.
Several case studies will allow for a more nuanced analysis and the identification of key actors and issues. Participating students will attend general and theoretical lectures as well as interactive seminars addressing concrete cases related to current events. They will also be required to work in groups. This program is open to non-specialist third-year undergraduate, master's, and doctoral students with an interest in the subject matter. It will be taught by faculty members and practitioners.
Schedule
- From May 2026 to early June 2026: circa 6 hours online conference
- June 2026: 5-day in-person session, including seminars, student group work and cultural activities.
Requirements
A good level of comprehension and oral production in English (at least B2 level) is necessary.
