About Station Linné
Station Linné is a research and visitor centre located on the island of Öland in the Baltic Sea. Öland’s particular nature boasts a unique flora and fauna that makes the operations of Station Linné well positioned for field research in entomology and on the role of insects in changing climate conditions. Station Linné is a strong exponent for the importance of biological diversity, which is highlighted in ongoing research as well as in public events.
The non-profit organisation has recently improved its capability and capacity as a visitor centre, with accommodation, café and different events for visitors. Popular events like ‘orchid walks’, ‘nature scouts of the bumblebee’, or ‘butterfly walks’, engage people in learning activities in fun and interesting ways. Step by step, with retained focus on field research, Station Linné develops its resources for eco-tourism.
