Lately, teacher shortages around the world have brought public attention to the matter of teacher well-being. High workloads, a lack of recognition, and little professional support contribute to an increasing dissatisfaction among many teachers. Therefore, well-being needs to play a crucial role in teachers’ careers and teacher education, both as a preventative as well as an intervening measure.

With a summer school revolving around well-being in the teaching profession, we are addressing this important topic from intersectoral perspectives.

By participating in this summer school, you will

  • explore various dimensions of well-being in general, and teacher well-being in particular;
  • be encouraged to find ways to reflect on and increase your own well-being as a (prospective) teacher;
  • learn  about the relevance of well-being in teaching- and learning processes and learn about possible ways to help transform schools into motivating environments for everyone;
  • engage with students from all over the world and teaching professionals.

Next to the academic programme you will participate in an exciting cultural programme.

This summer school is organised by the UNITE project in close cooperation with the University Alliance EUniWell and the teff academy

It will take place in Cologne (Germany) and is aimed at student teachers of all subjects enrolled at one of our UNITE, EUniWell or teff partner universities (see below for details of the participating EUniWell partner universities).
