The course is designed to enhance academic writing skills such as writing formal letters, summaries, essays, reports, and other relevant text types. It includes the analysis of selected text types and practical writing exercises. The course also focuses on the linguistic content (textual, lexical, grammatical, semantic) necessary for academic writing and aspects related to the graphic layout of texts.

Individual and group activities are conducted on the e-learning platform Moodle, helping students to develop linguistic and communicative competences up to B2/C1 level in Italian as well as other transversal competences such as “learning to learn”, social competence, and digital competence. Upon completion of the final assessment, students will be awarded an open badge (a shareable digital badge) that enhances their resume and validates their unique skills.

The course will run for a total of 75 hours, from 15 March until 24 May 2023. 60 hours of which are self-study and online work, 15 hours are with the teacher: one 1.5 hour lesson per week every Wednesday (apart from 12 April).  Lessons with the teacher can take place in person or online.
